About Me:
Just seeking information on African American women entreprenuers. I just graduated college and while attending school I wanted to earn some extra money when I decided to leave my job to finish the last leg of my school work strong. I orginally became a NXY Catalog Sales Representative and I purchased a domain for an online store. Unfortunately the company that I became a Representative for told me that only a small portion of my online store could be dedicated to selling their products because they had their own website for that purpose. Not knowing what I would do seeing how I'd already purchased the domain and started working on the online store I had to come up with a plan or cancel my online store. After having a conversation with my mother over the phone she suggested that because I loved making things and using my hands that I make something of my own to market and sell. I've always wanted to try my hand at making skincare products so I did some research and when the opportunity came I purchased some basic ingredients needed to make lotion, creams, fragrant body sprays, liquid body wash, and bar soap. Using extra cash I bought as many ingredients as I could. I started with 19 different scents but currently I've only developed a few products using maybe eight or nine scents and I'm pretty confident about my favorite scent. The products came out well. Now that I've done that, I'm not sure I have the courage to go further and actually market them. I'm so afraid of failure so I figured I do some research on African American Entreprenuers for some encouragement to move forward and maybe do some networking and learn from those who've been in business for themselves for a while. I have a lot to learn and once I found this site I knew that it would feel like home where I could talk to my sisters about how they got started and learn a few things from them as well. Thank you LaShanda for excepting me into your network. I look forward to meeting you all.

Hello,
It's been a minute since we have spoken. Have been very busy with my Avon business and Bridal business. Getting ready to put on a fun-raiser masquerade ball to raise money for the Sickle Cell Foundation. How is your business coming along? It takes a lot to get your business off and running, especially if you don't know to many people. But, I know that God has his hands on this one(:

THE MUSEUM OF SCIENCE & INDUSTRY HOSTS

THE TOURING STAGE PLAY
“THE CYCLE”

FAM Entertainment Theater Co, NFP.
(FOCUSING ON ACHIEVEMENT & MOTIVATION THROUGH ENTERTAINMENT)

“The Cycle” is a theatrical trilogy and an awakening theatrical expression that provides us with a reason why every individual acts, thinks and chooses different paths in life. This is what we call a “Cycle”. It represents the reoccurring issues in ones life that just won’t let go of you. And illustrates how we form habits of living through heredity, education, society and even friends.

However, the true definition of change is a release from one’s past that develops into an innovative mind for your future. Therefore a renewal of the mind must take place in order to completely break the often at times destructive series of life.

This purpose driven theatre piece to will provide: Provision for needs, long-suffering for habits, joy for sorrow, strength for the weak and assurance for the strong.
