"Education! Important GEAR for LIFE."

kidz TV Appearance

My personal philosophy is "My salvation is worth more than my salary or commission". I believe that we all have a purpose and that our interactions with one another help us fulfill that purpose. I enjoy community development, urban renewal and strategic business planning. I fundamentally believe that 1) It takes a village to raise a village 2) Each one must reach one 3) Without a vision a people will perish 4) Without a satisfied customer, you have NO business being in business. I absolutely enjoy connecting with people who have a passion for living, deal authentically with others and enjoy positive and inspiring projects!

About HBCU kidz, Inc.

"WE believe our kids are our future. We also believe that education is important gear for life. Just like a football player wears a helmet, a surgeon wears a mask, a judge wears a robe, or even as a carpenter carries a hammer. Every baby needs to be dressed for success at home. Success begins at birth and every baby born is a gift from God. We want U to help connect the kids to the colleges. HBCU kidz is a family business committed to serving families." We can only reap what has been sown" Galatians 6:7-8

Promotions, Promises and Perceptions (3 Ps)

Just curious.

I know how drugs are promoted in many communities.

I know how sex is promised in many videos and ads in
many communities.

I know how many people perceive black culture.

How do we promote, promise or perceive education in our
households with children age 0-6 years old?

I love your site!!!! Such a good idea. I went to Bennett in Greensboro, NC. I will definitely spread the word to others that graduated from an HBCU. I am always looking for stuff for my daughter. Right now, you only have the pennant, but I will check back.

Hi Joan, you have a lovely family! I think what you are doing is great because we have to plant these seeds at an early age... I have a site www.myas-place.com that is designed to promote a positive self image in children of color. Please take an opportunity to view it and I look forward to chatting with you soon.
I'm a new member and just really getting my feet wet with online networking!

Joan - thank you so much for all the information! I watched the clip...how exciting for you! Congratulations on everything, you deserve it!

I would love for you to join my Sistas Online group (I just made it...group newbie here!) - trying to gather all the women who have taken their businesses online and share helpful tips and tricks, and I think you'd be able to contribute a lot!

This may sound like a silly question to someone as web-savvy as yourself, but have you heard of Microsoft's Office Live Small Business? I just switched over to it, and it's really great for organizing all your online activities (something I've always had such a problem with). It's a perfect one-stop shop to host e-mail addresses, a free domain name for a year, and a customized e-commerce site, just to name a few :)

Even though you already have a website, you can still switch to OLSB and keep the same site and use it to manage everything! (The best part is the Email Marketing Beta: you can send email blasts and keep in touch with your customers and send them info about sales or new products...and you can keep track of who's opening the emails!)

You can see more about it at http://smallbusiness.officelive.com/

OLSB has been a great tool for me! If you have any questions at all, I work with Microsoft so feel free to e-mail me at michellepatterson@officeliveusers.com.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks again, Joan!

Best Wishes,
Michelle
