Excerpts from my book:

RELATIONSHIPS

Love

The thing I wanted most in life
turned out to be a great big lie
it tricked me with its promises
now I don't have the will to live
this thing that's supposed to be filled with joy
even made me give birth to a little boy
it's sort of like an addicting drug
its hold on me I cannot shrug
it makes you go through hurt and pain
your mind's screwed up, you've gone insane
you know you should go, but it makes you stay
knowing all along, your poor heart will pay
many things are done in the name of this thing
on its good side, it will make you sing
its bad side causes hurt and pain
on your poor heart, it's such a strain
if it's real, it's hard to break free
if you've never had it, take this advice from me
try your best to stay in the clear
if you accept it, pain is near
there's no prediction of how it will be
in the game of love, there's always a fee
one heart will be broken, if all don't go well
in the beginning, there's no sure way to tell
you've got to be strong and guard your heart
cause very easily it can be ripped apart
be careful of who you choose
in the game of love, you don't want to lose
they say all hearts heal with the passing of years
sometimes it takes for you to cry a million tears
with each new wound, let a lesson be learned
never again, let your heart get burned.

SPIRITUAL

Thank You Lord

Thank You, Lord, for being there
when it seemed at times, no one else cared
thank You, Lord, for seeing me through
with each new trial, oh, how my faith grew
thank You, Lord, for all that You've done
You've saved my soul through Your only Son
thank You, Lord, for a second chance
I'll praise You, Lord, with song and dance
thank You, Lord, and I thank You again
for saving my life and freeing me from sin.

CHILDREN

Teach Our Children

Teach our children the right way of life
without our help, their futures won't be bright
teach them morals and self-respect
let them know what of them we expect
show them the ways that we were taught
let them know what they ought not
teach them compassion for their fellow man
if anyone can teach them, we surely can
if we don't teach them, how will they learn
if's a responsibility that we have earned
we brought them here, so it's up to us
this topic at hand, needs to be further discussed
our children need us for guidance and love
it's even been written in the Book from above
when children grow up without home training
it's not them we should be blaming
if they haven't been taught the right way to go
how could we expect them just to know
so let's teach our children the right way of life
without our help, their future's won't be bright.

IT'S A BLACK THANG

Black Nation Wake Up

Wake up, Black Nation, before it's too late
there still is a chance to change our fate
not the fate of the Father who created us all
but the fate of the oppressor, for us to fail
there still is a chance for us to shine
no longer can the other bind
we are gifted, proud and strong
it's time to undue all the wrong
we have the chance to reach the top
no longer can the other stop
stop us from rising as it was meant to be
with God in our lives, we can break free
free from the chains that still have us bound
there is a sure way that I have found
just call out to His holy name
from that moment on, it won't be the same
doors will be opened that once were locked tight
once you've called on His name, He'll give you sight
He'll show you the way to rise above the rest
it's one of life's toughest test
Wake up, Black Nation, you do have the power
this is our time, our chosen hour
no one can hold you back if you've made up your mind
if you don't succeed, it's your own fault this time
your future lies in your own hands
it's time, Black Nation, to take a stand
you are unique for all can see
if you just pull together, you can break free
free from oppression that's held us back for so long
Black Nation, united, we can be strong
pull together and discover our strength
the miles we can conquer, can't be measured by length
Black Nation, it's time for us to shine through
it's in the air, they can feel it too
stop the violence, the hate and the crime
open your eyes, you'll see it's time
don't stay a prisoner of days gone by
Black Nation, can't we at least try
try a new path of kindness and love
it will take much help from up above
so wake up, Black Nation, before it's too late
'cause there still is a chance to change our fate.

I Am Black Woman

Here she stands, strong and proud
upset her nerves, she will get loud
tall and dark and full of pride
man nor beast can break her stride
she walks the weather beaten paths
you'd never know it, she's full of laughs
each stumbling block becomes a rung
with each new step, she sings her song
"I am Black Woman, strong from within
my back is strong, can't make me bend"
the testier the trial, the longer the mile
she overcomes it with the brightest smile
she invites a challenge with upraised hands
giving thanks to her Father, for this great land
land to live on and prove her strength
a power so strong, can't measure its length
she takes each day, as it comes about
not to worry about tomorrow, there can't be doubt
doubt that her Father will let go of her hand
not guiding her to the promised line
her body is tall, dark and slim
the strength she has comes from within
her heart is big, as the sun is bright
she thanks the Lord for the insight
to live and love with an open heart
that's her greatest gift that sets her apart
apart from all who walk the miles
but can't seem to hang on to their smiles
"I am Black Woman, strong from within
my back is strong, can't make me bend".

For those of you who are looking for media exposure for your self-published books, you should talk to Ms. Ella Curry at the Black Author's Network Literary Talk Show. I have been on her show and she does a wonderful job interviewing authors.

Just released my New Book The Noble Woman. I must say that I was a little disappointed with my publisher, for not taking the time to do a good editorial review Just because I asked that they do not change the content. Well this is not to bash my publisher They are working on it right now. They took the chance on me and I was able to publish two books, this was my foundation course in writing and publishing. I have learned a lot and now I am ready to go for more and better ways. I now know that I am now an Alpha in the book business I have the confidence to know what is right, what works and what does not, also ready to learn a lot more in this Industry.

Someone to Love Me

Someone to Love Me by Nicole S. Rouse
“What’s done in the dark eventually comes to light.”

When delivered by his pastor, those words stir up memories of guilt and shame for Jerome Thomas. In the early years of his marriage, Jerome made several mistakes—neglecting his family, struggling with bouts of alcoholism, and wasting money. But, the one mistake he regrets the most is cheating on his wife.

Every morning before she opens her eyes, Taylor Belle says a quick prayer for forgiveness. The guilt of the affair she had and the lives of the people she hurt weigh heavily on her heart. She knows that she needs to settle things with Jerome before God will lift her burden.

Several years have passed since the affair, but there is still unfinished business between Taylor and Jerome that could destroy their families. What will happen when the repercussions of their last intimate encounter catch up to them? Will God mend old wounds and restore the love and peace they once knew, or are Jerome and Taylor destined to suffer the consequences of their past sins for years to come?
