The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the very heart of Christianity. In 1 Corinthians 15 St. Paul reasoned, "If Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. . . .We are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead." In that same chapter he says "If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen sleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men." But then Paul triumphantly declares, "But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep" (1 Cor. 15:14-20).

As I approach 40, I'm starting to feel like a toatlly different person than I have been my whole life. I used to live to please others, even with church and my faith. I was working harder to please the 'church folk' than I was trying to please God. Now I'm at a crossroads of sorts, trying to find my way back to Him. I feel like I'm starting over, trying to have a relationship with God, and trying to love me and be a better person as a whole.

Blessings....Knowing it's God not myself, who can bring peace in the midst of my storms, trusting in him doesn't cost any money, it just the way you live from day to day....I love you Lord for the moment Of peace I reach when my Mind is stayed on thee....Blessings to all!!

Sitting in my office simply reflecting on the beauty of a life lived well. By all standards God has blessed my life. I grew up in a home though it was not perfect I knew my parents loved us. In some crazy way they even loved each other. It wasn't until my dad passed that my mom realized this. Thats been five years ago and I still miss him in my life. I'm glad for my mom. She has continued living and is even enjoying having a 'new friend' in her life. I'm sure my dad would have approved because he was just such a real guy. He understood life and relationship. As i sit here and blog or write or whatever you call these online thoughts now I am truly grateful even for the friends I have made here sight unseen. Life is this really wonderful gift to be lived in each moment. I pray right now for God's Wisdom in all things. To do as Joshua was admonished to follow the book of wisdom and to not depart from it. My sisters I wish each of you above all peace and love. I wish you the moments to just stop and breathe. To live in love of God, yourself and all mankind.

What Is Quiet Time?

I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. - John
10:14

A quiet time is an intimate, face-to-face, heart-to-heart connection with God
through His Son, Jesus Christ. It's the time when you actually build your
relationship with Jesus. Specifically, it is a time for you to get up every day
and read the Bible and pray and get closer to Him.

A lot of people say to think to themselves: "I prayed a prayer, but I don't feel
closer to God; or I felt really close to God when I was at that retreat or camp,
but now I don't feel very close to Him."

You're not going to feel close to anybody if you're not spending time with them.

If you were married and didn't spend time with your spouse, the two of you would
not grow any closer. Actually, you would move farther and farther apart.

A quiet time is an expression of your commitment to be a true follower of
Christ. It's as if you're saying, "Lord, I'm going to make sure that I don't
accidentally get farther and farther away from You. In fact, I'm going to use
this time to get closer and closer to You.

I'm going to use it as a time to get fed by You and to get filled up with You
and to understand more of You." Before you do anything else, start your day with
God. Talk to Him, seek Him in His Word and pray through your day. Make it your
top priority.

Maybe you've never had a quiet time with God before. Start thinking about what
kind of quiet time you want to have and where you want to have it. Think about
what time you need to get up in order to have enough time to read your Bible and
pray before you start your day with the world.

Your personal relationship with God is the dynamite that it will take to effect
this generation. You will begin to spread the gospel as your character becomes
like Christ. This transformation process can only happen in direct relationship
with Christ.

The more we know Jesus, and look like Him, the easier it will be to lead people
to him.
