I am not a breast cancer patient but I do know several survivors. I am however, an advocate and prayer warrior for finding a cure.

Greetings Ladies.
I am not a breast cancer patient, however many women in my family were. Four out of five of my mother's sister had breast cancer. One succumbed to the disease when I was a young girl. The others are survivors. My mother is the only sister living that has never had the disease. Needless to say, it is believed that it is genetic for our family and affects me personally. Therefore, I am an advocate for Breast Cancer Awareness. I'm creating a line of fashions in which proceeds will go towards this cause. I'm so excited about getting the word out. It is my goal to help raise awareness in the urban communities where diagnosis is often found in the later stages of the cancer. Knowing that part of this is due to the lacks of funding and education, I am working hard to change that.

In closing, my prayers go out to those who are fighting the disease and to the families of those who are losing the battle and have lost the battle to this disease.

Thank you for sharing your support for Breast Cancer Awareness. When my mother's sister had breast cancer, I took a look in the mirror and asked myself, “what if it were me?”.

What a horrific thought. Because of inadequate funding only 1 in 5 eligible women gets the lifesaving breast cancer screening and treatment they need.

My prayers go out to those who've lost their precious loved ones from this aggressive disease, as well as to those survivors who are fighting to live.

Hello ladies, I am honored to share space with you in this group. Although I am not a victim of cancer, it has touched me terribly...I lost my beautiful mother to breast cancer on September 12, 2006.

I believe awareness and support are key elements to overcoming this horrible disease that has touched the lives of so many black women. I am up for the fight...let's stand together!
